Decorated by Elizabeth Timothy thank you so much. And a lovely service with just us doing it ourselves and no minister. Thank you to all involved. Pictures courtesy of Wendy Davies.
Given the website a new fresh look.
Also added a long article written by Bill Johns called Yesterday’s Waunarlydd.

Dear Sardis Chapel,
We hope this letter finds you well.
This is a massive “Thank you” to you for generously donating to Matthew’s House. Your harvest donation was wonderful and so generous. Both Matt’s Café and The Homeless Period Swansea rely entirely on donations to continue thriving, which is why harvest is such as important time of year for us. Matt’s Café intercepts mainly fresh produce weekly but non-perishable goods such as tins are not guaranteed. We are so grateful that you have chosen to donate your harvest collection to Matthew’s House and we are confident that your donations will help us provide hospitality and hope for months to come.
As you know Matthew’s House is a building on the high street in Swansea in the old St. Matthew’s Church. We are a fully volunteer-led project that exists to deliver “Life-giving Hope” in as many ways as we can. We have a “Pay-as-you-feel” café called Matt’s Café that serves great grub to ensure people can eat even if money is “tight” or they have nothing at all. We have a project called The Homeless Period Swansea that collects and makes “Dignity packs” for vulnerable women. We have recently completed the building of our one-to-one buddying space – “The Cwtsh” – which is an exciting new venture for us. Our next step is to “fix” a laundry room and the shower facilities at our lovely building. Since we opened in March 2017 we have relied on people and their donations to continue the work we do. Currently we have served over 13,000 meals, have a team of 70+ volunteers and have made nearly 300 “Dignity packs”.
We just wanted you to know that you are now key members of our Matthew’s House Family and we would love your continued support in the future to keep providing dignity to the people of Swansea. We would also love to extend an invitation to you all to come to the café for breakfast, dinner or a cuppa any time. We are open Sundays 6:30-9pm, Mondays and Tuesdays 10-3pm. To keep up-to-date on our activity please visit our website or social media pages.
Thank you so much for choosing us and we look forward to speaking again soon.
With love and thanks,
The Matthew’s House Leadership and Family
Note: to find each section, stand in the graveyard with your back to the chapel and looking down the path towards the railway line, section A is on the left against the wall, Farmers Arms side; sections B and C are in front of A to the path; sections D, E, F are on the right hand side of the path (Vestry side). Each grave in each section is then numbered from the chapel to the end of the graveyard.
